Eric M. Jackson, Ph.D.

In January 2007, Jackson started the world's first Internet-based campaign to increase shareholder value at Yahoo!, leading to a change in CEOs in 2007. He also spoke out in favor of Yahoo!’s accepting Microsoft’s buyout offer in 2008. Global Proxy Watch named Jackson as one of its 10 "Stars" who positively influenced international corporate governance and shareowner value in 2007. Prior to founding Ironfire Capital, Jackson was President & CEO of Jackson Leadership Systems, Inc., a leadership, strategy, and governance consulting firm. He completed his Ph.D. in the Management Department at the Columbia University Graduate School of Business in New York, with a specialization in Strategic Management and Corporate Governance, and holds a B.A. from McGill University. He was previously Vice President of Strategy and Business Development at VoiceGenie Technologies, a software firm now owned by Alcatel-Lucent. In 2004, Jackson founded the Young Patrons' Circle at the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto, which is now the second largest social and philanthropic group of its kind in North America, raising $500,000 annually for the museum. Jackson writes regularly for Forbes, The Wall Street Journal China, Bloomberg, TheStreet.com and RealMoney.com.

Jacky K.Y. Chan, MMPA, CFA, CPA
Managing Member |
Chan oversees risk management and portfolio analysis for the firm. He holds a Master of Management and Professional Accounting degree from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Western Ontario. He is a CFA charterholder and a CPA. He previously worked for Ernst & Young and was then recruited by a private trust in Hong Kong in 2000. During his tenure, Chan was involved in investment due diligence, litigation support, corporate finance & transactions and portfolio management. In addition to being the Managing Member of Ironfire Capital, Chan took on the role as the Chief Operations Officer at Semeiotics, Inc., a creative company, in September 2009. Chan is also the vice chairman of a private charitable foundation, in which his primary role is to manage the endowment investment. Chan is based in our Hong Kong office.

Chris Lau, MBA
Director |
Lau is responsible for conducting due diligence and keeping ongoing communications with our Chinese-based, US-listed investments. He previously worked in various senior management capacities for both public and private companies in North America, Europe and Hong Kong, including Johnson & Johnson, Fortis, A.M. Best, KPMG Consulting, Watson Wyatt Hong Kong, and South China Holding. In addition to his Director’s role at Ironfire Capital, Lau also serves as the Managing Director of Chun Sing Investment (China), Ltd., a Hong Kong boutique investment firm specialized in direct investment and investment advisory services in China. A China native growing up in the U.S., Lau’s career traverses investment banking, management consulting and China investment. Lau holds an MBA from the Wharton School of Business and a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Lau is based in our Shenzhen office.

Leo Fan
Analyst |
Fan is responsible for sector and company research and analysis. Prior to joining Ironfire Capital in 2010, he worked as the programmer/excel developer in ABN AMRO Asset Management (Asia) Ltd. He was responsible for building and modifying Excel-related VBA programs in multiple departments. Fan holds a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science from the University of Hong Kong and is currently enrolled in the Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement (CIPM) Program accredited by the CFA Institute. Fan is based in our Hong Kong Office.

Wayne Sun
Analyst |
Sun is responsible for conducting investment due diligence and sector analysis. Prior to joining Ironfire Capital in 2010, he worked in various departments in Overseas Chinese Town (Asia) Holding Limited in Shenzhen, China, where he was responsible for preparing company announcements and management reports, performing investment analyses, as well as managing investor relationships. Sun is a Chinese national and holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Finance from the University of Toronto. Sun is based in our Shenzhen office.

Celine Zhou, MSF
Analyst |
Zhou is responsible for sector and company research and analysis, as well as investment due diligence. Prior to joining the company in 2011, she worked as a financial analyst at the Chicago, U.S.-based Corporate Investments Group, Inc., where she was responsible for providing portfolio management and professional financial advisory services to clients. Zhou holds a Master of Science in Finance from the Illinois Institute of Technology, a Bachelor of Arts in Financial Management from the Shanghai Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Arts in French from the Shanghai International Studies University. She is based in our Shenzhen office.

Elly Wu, MScIT
Analyst |
Wu is responsible for conducting investment due diligence and sector analysis. Prior to joining the company in 2011, she worked as an intern at Tmfox Strategic Solutions, a management consulting firm in Shenzhen, China with a focus in IT sector investment. At Tmfox, she was responsible for conducting research on business models and industry chain of client companies, providing business solutions, as well as preparing business research papers. Wu received her Bachelor Degree in Computer Science with a Minor in Finance from the Shenzhen University, China and a Master Degree in Information Technology from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. She is based in our Shenzhen office.
